Routes

Hills, Hills, and more Hills

Having the picturesque South Wales valleys on our doorstep, inevitably our weekly club runs take in a few ascents of some sort. These can be scattered across the Swansea, Neath, Afan and Garw valleys, depending on the chosen route of the day. Our riders mostly use Garmin or Strava (or both) to log their rides, or indeed track the route. Bryncoch Bombers is listed as a club on Strava.com. Hopefully they will appear here on the right by Weds/Thurs preceding the weekends ride.

Sportives & Other Organised Events

The club will target specific Sportives and events as vehicles for raising money for the charities we have decided to support this year (on our charities page). Key events our riders target are as follows, but of course not mandatory! :

The Velothon
The Gower Bike Ride
Ride London
Castles and Cathedrals
The Five Valleys Sportive

Be sure to download our event sponsor form from this page in order to raise money for our chosen charities, as well as the official charity of the event itself.

Meeting Times

Our rides usually depart the Bryncoch Inn (Tyn Yr Heol, Neath) during the Summer months at 7.30am Saturday mornings. During darker and colder Winter periods, we push back to an 8.00am start for light and ice purposes! Our rides typically last for upto 4-5 hours depending on the route, but on the whole we aim to be back in time for lunch at 12-12.30. Occasionally we have a mid-week ride of an evening during Summer months - usually dictated by the weather and a chance email to all club members. Normally, a cafe stop is not included to ensure we get back on time, so we recommend you bring necessary food/drink to cover a ride of between 40-70 miles. Ride distances are advertised early in the week via email prior to the ride, so all can be aware of whats coming, along with the specified route.
